Oh. no it’s a pantomime. The crew get to wear silly hats and prance around in costume. The trouble is that the tone is unsure of itself. Is is supposed to be silly, comedic, tragic or some sort of satire ?

In the end it’s just an excuse to get rid of a character that is hampering the Doctor from doing his job.
