The LG 29WQ500-B  is a 29″ widescreen monitor.
With dimensions of 689mm x 313mm it has a ration of 21:9.
The overall size is similar to my old dual 4:3 monitors.

It has a stand which slightly elevates the screen above the old setup, but it’s still acceptable.

Physical setup was easy, but the first problem turned out to be sound. While the monitor does not have a speaker, it does have audio connections. At first there was no sound, but I found that the PC had redirected the sound to the monitor, not the speakers.

Ono reason for getting them was the overwhelming number of applications (especially music VSTs) using 16:9. It just makes  them small on a 4:3 monitor and harder to read.

But the best part is the games, Age of Empires (the updated version stretches across the full screen. And the modern “Divinity: Original Sin” works brilliantly.
