Doctor Who Christmas 2023 Special “The Church on Ruby Road”

Ncuti Gatwa stars in his first full appearance as the Fifteenth Doctor, alongside Millie Gibson as his companion Ruby Sunday.

Turns out Ncuti  (pronounced Shuti ) is a very charismatic  Doctor Who. He can sing, he can dance. He could be the fresh air  this sixty year old franchise needs.

As for the story…

An orphan is abandoned on a church doorstep. On Christmas Day. In the Winter. Directly on the snow. Just how long did her mother think she could survive. Eighteen years later the girl (Ruby Sunday) seems to be having bad luck.

Then a group of steampunk goblins descends from a floating ship (not a dirigible). to take a baby. The Goblin King (not from Labyrinth) needs a snack. But here comes the Doctor and Ruby to save the baby, only to find that they are time travelling steampunk goblins (who can sing and dance). So it’s back in time (not like Back to the Future 4) to save another baby.
