On this day in 1881 Thomas Edison and Alexander Graham Bell form the Oriental Telephone Company.

The Oriental Telephone Company was established as the result of an agreement between Edison and Bell to sell telephones in Greece, Turkey, South Africa, India, Japan, China, and other Asian countries.
