Episode 1 “Wednesday’s Child Is Full of Woe”

Wednesday Addams, goth school student gets expelled after feeding her piranhas human flesh. Her parents, Morticia (an unrecognizable Catherine Zeta-Jones) and Gomez, decide to enroll her in Nevermore Academy, a school for outcasts. There she has to integrate with other off-casts who seem to posses some form of magic.

It’s all very dark and gloomy. But lightened by a frivolous tone and lots of snarky comments from Wednesday.

Tim Burton directs, and his weird sensibilities permeate the show. It manages to be fun and intriguing. An a murder (or is it) sets up the series.

Episode 2 “Woe Is the Loneliest Number”

Wednesday convinces a skeptical Sheriff Galpin that the perpetrator of the murders is in fact a monster. Suddenly, Rowan reappears unharmed. Wednesday doubts her sanity and decides to investigate the murders herself.

The main event is a canoe race that Wednesday’s team (the Black Cats) wins with a few underhand tactics. But her investigations into the murder are interrupted when she is captured at the end of the episode.

The therapist is played by Riki Londholme, half of the comedic duo Garfunkel and Oates.
