What started as a simple premise: change time, soon gets all tied up in it’s own spiral. By the end of the series it seems clear that the writers don’t know where to go with the story. So at the end of the series they send Alex back to stop help himself save the woman he loves, who was spying on him.  She was employed by a guy claiming to be Alex’s father.

In the (who-knows-where) time Kiera is caught by the freelancers who claim to be part of the  Knights Templar (or something similar) who are out to save everyone from themselves.

It all gets terribly confusing, which detracts from anything interesting that may happed in seasons 3 & 4.
